    Burnell "Bernie"Belliveau

    Burnell"Bernie" R. Belliveau JOGGINS - The death of Burnell "Bernie" R. Belliveau, age 75, of Joggins, occurred at the Cumberland Regional Health Centre on Sunday, January 6, 2007(sic). Born in Joggins, N.S., he was a son of Anthony and Flora (MacDonald) Belliveau. Bernie grew up in Joggins and was very active in all sports activities, including hockey, baseball, curling, boxing, and later with the Senior Bowling League in Amherst. He was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. He began work at the mine in Joggins, after its closure, he moved to Sifto Salt in Nappan until his retirement. A die hard sports enthusiast, Bernie is remembered by all for his love of the Red Sox. His friends and family will miss his wonderful smile and constant teasing. He will be sadly missed by his wife Ethel, his two daughters, Lisa (Kevin) Strathearn, Amherst and Tracy Belliveau (Mike Coolen), St. Margaret's Bay; six grandchildren, Jessica, Evan, Kelsey, Bailey, Ritchie, and Matthew; two great grandchildren, Rachel and Parker; a brother Russell, St. Catherine's,two brothers by choice, Norman (Beverly), St. Catherine's and Richard, Toronto, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant son, Jeffrey, a sister, Margaret and a brother, Lester. Arrangements are in care of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, N.S. (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Joggins on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at 2 p.m., Father David MacDonald officiating. Cremation has taken place, burial will take place in the Ragged Reef Cemetery in the spring.     Ethel Belliveau
    1939 – 2022
    It is with sadness we announce the passing of Ethel Mary Belliveau, age 82, of East Cumberland Lodge, NS formerly of Amherst and Joggins, NS. Ethel passed away on Friday, February 18th, 2022 at the Lodge in Pugwash. Born in Joggins, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Ethel (Comeau) Terrio.
    Ethel was employed with Scotiabank for over 40 years, retiring in 1999. She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church & CWL. Ethel enjoyed handiwork and reading. She was an avid darts player and floor curler. 
    Survived by 2 daughters, Lisa (Kevin) Strathearn, Amherst and Tracy (Mike Larose) Belliveau, Halifax, NS;  6 grandchildren, Evan, Kelsey, Bailey, Jessica, Ritchie and Matthew;  4 great grandchild, Parker, Brynn, Ava and Jack; brothers, David, James, William, Robert and Alex (Cathy); sisters, Nora (George), Janice (Terry), Susan (Ron), Debbie (Martin), Helen and Barbara Jean (William); special brother-in-law Richard as well many nieces and nephews.  
    She was predeceased by her husband Bernie, a son Jeffrey, a sister, Doris and foster parents, Helen and James Como.
    Arrangements have been entrusted into the care and guidance of Jones Family Funeral Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst (902-667-8777) where a visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 from 6 pm until 8 pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, February 24th, 2022 at 11 am at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Joggins. In keeping with COVID restrictions, please e-mail info@jonesfamilyfuneralcentre.ca or call the office during office hours at 902-667-8777 to Pre-Register for both visitation and Funeral Mass.  Masks are mandatory. Proof of Double Vaccination and a government ID is also required. The funeral will be available to watch online on Thursday, February 24th 2022 at 5 pm.
    Donations in memory of Ethel may be made to the St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church.
