  	Obituary BAIRD, Helen - With her family by her side, the death of Helen Baird, 78 of Amherst occurred on Thursday, February 18, 2010. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Catherine (Richardson) Rhindress. Helen is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gordon; son, Stephen (Dianna), Calgary, Alta.; daughters, Lindy (David Ripley) Baird and Cathy (Frank) Ripley, both of Amherst, and Nancy (Hugh) Calder, Halifax; brother, James (Andrea ) Rhindress, Amherst; grandchildren, Blaine Ripley, Shelley Calder, Jennifer Mills, Royleen Ripley; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Madeline (Ewan) MacDonald. Cremation has taken place under the care and supervision of Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst (902-667-8777) from where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 21st, Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
